Description
Blue John stud earrings hand made in Derbyshire. Stone measuring 8mm round and is in a 925 sterling silver setting with butterfly ear backs.

Blue John also known as ‘Derbyshire Spar’ is a very rare semi precious type of Fluorite found in only one place in the world – Castleton, Derbyshire. Blue John is famed for its purple, blue and golden yellow bandings, which runs through the stone and makes each piece of Blue John gemstone unique.

Caring for Blue John - It is a fairly soft stone. Rated 4 on the Mohs scale and contains or has natural inclusions within its structure. When held up to light these may become more visible. Care should be taken in regards to handling of the jewellery especially with rings. Please keep chemicals away from Blue John and use only a soft cloth to wipe clean.
